About The Position

Ascend HR Corp | HR Maximizer is seeking a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to support Legacy Community Health in Houston, Texas. This is a full-time temporary assignment for an experienced HR professional who can step into a fast-paced healthcare environment and provide strong partnership to leaders. This role is designed for an HR Business Partner who operates as a strategic advisor to leadership — someone who can influence decision-making, guide leaders through complex people challenges, and support organizational effectiveness across a multi-site healthcare environment. In this role, you will serve as a trusted HR partner supporting a designated group of clinics within an assigned Houston-area service region. The successful candidate will bring strong employee relations experience, sound judgment, healthcare HR knowledge, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. While this role includes hands-on support, the primary focus is partnering with leaders to drive business outcomes and influence decisions — not just executing HR processes. This is not a transactional HR or HRIS-focused role. While employee relations and compliance are part of the position, the primary focus is strategic partnership with leadership and influencing business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field required
  • 7+ years progressive HR experience required
  • Strong employee relations and coaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders and operate in a consultative HR Business Partner capacity
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and business acumen
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in healthcare or multi-site environment preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clinic and operational leaders, influencing decision-making and driving business outcomes
  • Coach and guide leaders on organizational effectiveness, performance, and team development, acting as a trusted partner rather than a policy enforcer
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy across assigned regions
  • Support leaders through change management, growth initiatives, and evolving business priorities
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives while maintaining a positive work environment
  • Ensure alignment with HR policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (FMLA, ADA, FLSA) as needed
  • Partner with recruiting and operations to align talent strategy with business needs and drive results
