With a global manufacturing footprint spanning three continents, GlobalFoundries makes possible the technologies and systems that transform industries and give customers the power to shape their markets. This is a front-row partnership with the engineering and operations leaders running one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. GlobalFoundries Fab 8 in Malta, NY is at the epicenter of the U.S. semiconductor resurgence, powering technologies for AI, automotive, aerospace & defense, and next-generation silicon photonics. We're looking for a seasoned, strategic HR Business Partner who thrives in high-velocity manufacturing environments and wants to shape the people strategy behind the chips that shape the world.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with meaningful time as a strategic HRBP in a manufacturing, semiconductor, or technical/engineering environment.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leaders (Director+ level) and operating as a trusted advisor, not just an HR generalist.
  • Deep expertise in employee relations, performance management, talent strategy, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Exceptional business storytelling skills with the ability to translate HR data into an accessible, influential narrative that moves leaders to action.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to use data to diagnose problems and build solutions.
  • Experience with Workday strongly preferred.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to build strong, trusted relationships quickly across leadership teams, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of HR experience with progressive HRBP responsibility.
  • Master's degree in HR, MBA, or related advanced degree.
  • Prior experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or high-tech environments.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 shift-based manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with AI/automation tools for HR productivity.
  • Change management certification or demonstrated experience leading large-scale organizational change.
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR strategist for assigned semiconductor manufacturing client groups, translating business priorities into high-impact people solutions across talent acceleration, workforce planning, organizational design, and leadership capability building.
  • Build deep credibility with engineering and operations leaders by understanding their business rhythms, KPIs, and talent challenges at a technical level.
  • Drive critical talent identification and retention strategies, including proactive counteroffer analysis, compensation benchmarking, and targeted development plans.
  • Own the end-to-end performance management cycle, including goal-setting, calibrations (9-Box), focal planning, and development planning.
  • Partner with leaders on succession planning, high-potential development, and building a robust pipeline of manufacturing talent.
  • Coach managers on giving meaningful feedback, managing performance constructively, and creating environments where engineers and technicians want to stay and grow.
  • Cultivate a culture of trust, accountability, and belonging across a 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing workforce, from engineers and technicians to leadership teams.
  • Navigate complex employee relations matters with empathy, judgment, and speed, including investigations, conflict resolution, and sensitive separations.
  • Champion site engagement initiatives and help make our Malta campus a destination workplace.
  • Leverage HR analytics to identify workforce trends such as attrition, engagement, and compensation health, then translate those insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
  • Maintain and contribute to real-time talent trackers and dashboards that enable proactive retention and workforce planning decisions.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Benefits
