The Senior HR Business Partner is expected to partner with all levels of leadership within the business unit, aligning HR strategy with business goals, direction, and vision. This role provides proactive professional HR guidance and support to internal clients to add value to the business and impact the Constellation enterprise in achieving its strategy. Working under general direction, this role supports the assigned client group and implements HR Strategy in partnership with HR leadership to support business unit goals and objectives. It also supports the change management process across the HR organization and directly with respective client groups. The HR Generalist role provides professional advice, guidance, and implementation in partnership with line management regarding workforce planning, employee relations, and staffing. This role ensures HR integrated support of business strategy and goals and interprets, implements, and executes Constellation's policies and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or related field (for Senior HR Business Partner)
  • 5 to 8 years of strong HR operations experience or HR specialist area in a matrix organization (for Senior HR Business Partner)
  • Ability to provide verbal and written communications clearly, succinctly and persuasively (for Senior HR Business Partner)
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEO, ADA and FMLA.
  • Ability to understand problems in the context of the bigger picture and influential relationships as well as the overall industry and marketplace in which Constellation operates (for Senior HR Business Partner)
  • Strong drive for results to lead and facilitate efforts to ensure human resources alignment with the business unit.
  • Proven skills in coaching and performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal directly with client leads to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change.
  • Ability to use research methods effectively including data collection and analysis (for Senior HR Business Partner)
  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 2 to 5 years of strong HR generalist experience in a matrixed organization (for HR Generalist)
  • Proven demonstration of effective line management relations in a high performance culture with a strong sense of customer service, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (for HR Generalist)
  • Knowledge of business (Energy Services or Corporate-type background is helpful) (for HR Generalist)
  • Proven management skills in coaching, performance management, and facilitating business competency (for HR Generalist)

Responsibilities

  • Champion employee engagement and workforce effectiveness planning and initiative implementation in partnership with the business and HR specialty areas, such as talent acquisition and diversity and inclusion, etc.
  • Partner with business leadership to provide consultative guidance, develop and implement plans informed by organizational capabilities, structure, processes and competencies in alignment with business strategy.
  • Liaison to specialty HR functions and centers of expertise for optimal client support.
  • Lead or participate in enterprise-wide initiatives including, but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, HR and business transformation projects, as well as support and sustain change.
  • Drive integrated process focused on workforce and talent planning through assessment of talent pipeline and strategizing to foster strength, in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Evaluate and resolve employee relations issues, as well as evaluate and develop strategy for trends.
  • Provide input to COEs with goal of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Identify talent and workforce needs within client group and partner with HR Business Partner to develop plan to address gaps.
  • Drive and support annual processes in partnership with HR Business Partner and business.
  • Provide assistance on HR operational issues with business units and help to champion change.
  • Provide transactional support of employee and organizational changes.
  • Provides coaching and counseling to business to resolve employee issues, under direction of HR Business Partner.
  • Support recruitment activity as needed in partnership with talent acquisition function.
