About The Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Hosting Infrastructure Administrator to serve as one of two primary Linux experts responsible for supporting and evolving the company's enterprise Linux environment. This role is ideal for a Senior infrastructure engineer who brings deep Linux administration experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. The environment primarily supports SAP ERP systems running on Linux, making prior SAP experience highly desirable. The team is small and collaborative, providing exposure to a broad range of infrastructure technologies including cloud, virtualization, storage, backups, and data center operations.

Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on Linux administration and engineering experience
  • Proven troubleshooting expertise across complex production environments
  • Experience with Linux deployments, upgrades, patching, and system administration best practices
  • Understanding of infrastructure automation and configuration management concepts
  • SaltStack (SALT)
  • Terraform
  • Ansible
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure environments
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Associate's degree required

Responsibilities

  • Own the stability, performance, and growth of Linux systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Support mission-critical SAP workloads and surrounding infrastructure
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and serve as the highest level of escalation for complex Linux issues
  • Implement and maintain Linux best practices for performance, reliability, and availability
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation solutions
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational workflows
  • Expand monitoring and alerting capabilities to reduce downtime and improve system visibility
  • Drive infrastructure standardization and operational efficiency
  • Support workloads running in Azure and AWS
  • Assist with cloud adoption initiatives as the organization expands its cloud footprint
  • Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware
  • Participate in data center operations, hardware lifecycle management, and infrastructure maintenance
  • Support enterprise storage platforms and related infrastructure upgrades
  • Own backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery processes
  • Execute disaster recovery testing and validate recovery readiness
  • Act as a Senior technical resource and mentor within the infrastructure team
  • Lead root cause analysis and incident response efforts
  • Contribute to infrastructure standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
