About The Position

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Highway Engineer to join our NJ Regional Operation. Position requires a minimum of 10 years-experience in the performance of highway designs for major state agencies such as NJDOT and NJ Turnpike including expertise in geometric design, grading, drainage, construction staging, MPT / traffic control layout, access and right-of-way design. Qualified candidate will be familiar with the NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process and NJ Turnpike Procedures Manual, and have experience as a Project Manager and/or Roadway Design Team Leader including previous responsibilities for management of project scope, schedule and budget. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant highway, interchange, and roadway design experience
  • NJ Licensed PE
  • Familiar with NJDOT / NJ Turnpike / AASHTO Standards for Design
  • Experienced in CADD software including Microstation and Inroads / Open Roads
  • Experience with Primavera, Excel and Word.
  • Detail and goal-oriented, a self-starter and proficient in both verbal and written communications
  • Team-focused, self-starter and capable mentor with strong communications skills
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and manage small design groups and projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver multi-disciplinary transportation engineering projects
  • Produce design plans, calculations, specifications, and permitting documents (including but not limited to highway/roadway design, complete street design, safety improvements, grading and drainage design, and utility coordination and relocations)
  • Provide technical QA/QC
  • Oversee construction support services (review of submittments and RFIs)
  • Assist with business development activities and proposal writing
  • Maintain project schedules and manage project financials
