To support the growth of our Thunder Bay office, we are actively seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highways & Bridges Division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on high profile projects including a variety of highway planning and design assignments being undertaken in Northern Ontario.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University
  • 10-15 years’ experience with highway and road design
  • Professional Engineering Designation in Ontario is required
  • Experience in consulting engineering environment
  • Experience utilizing Inroads is mandatory
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Experience working on MTO projects /designs is mandatory
  • Must have sound knowledge of current engineering principles, methods, and practices
  • Excellent technical and communication skills are a necessity
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently

Responsibilities

  • Work with project managers to accomplish various tasks associated with various projects
  • Preliminary and detailed design of arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety)
  • Checking of designs, drawings, quantity calculations, contract preparation
  • Construction inspection and preparation of reports
  • Mentoring junior design staff
