To support the growth of our Thunder Bay office, we are actively seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highways & Bridges Division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on high profile projects including a variety of highway planning and design assignments being undertaken in Northern Ontario.

Requirements

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University
10-15 years’ experience with highway and road design
Professional Engineering Designation in Ontario is required
Experience in consulting engineering environment
Experience utilizing Inroads is mandatory
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
Experience working on MTO projects /designs is mandatory
Must have sound knowledge of current engineering principles, methods, and practices
Excellent technical and communication skills are a necessity
Ability to work on several projects concurrently

Responsibilities

Work with project managers to accomplish various tasks associated with various projects
Preliminary and detailed design of arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, utilities, roadside safety)
Checking of designs, drawings, quantity calculations, contract preparation
Construction inspection and preparation of reports
Mentoring junior design staff
