About The Position

Weston Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Healthcare EHS Consultant to support healthcare clients across the western United States. This role is ideal for an experienced EHS professional with deep expertise in hospital and healthcare environments, including hospitals, clinics, and other patient care facilities. The successful candidate will develop, implement, lead, and manage Environmental, Health & Safety programs tailored to healthcare operations. This position requires strong working knowledge of healthcare-specific compliance, accreditation requirements, risk management, and physical environment standards, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with hospital leadership and client stakeholders. This is a remote, U.S.-based role with up to 25% travel to client sites across Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Arizona.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of related professional experience.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience supporting hospital, healthcare, or patient care facility EHS programs.
  • Demonstrated experience working in or consulting to hospital systems, acute care facilities, clinics, or similar healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific EHS, regulatory compliance, accreditation, and risk management requirements.
  • Experience leading audits, strategic planning, program development, and client-facing consulting engagements.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to client sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or ASP/CSP-eligible.
  • Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) strongly preferred.
  • Clinical background or medical credentials such as nursing, EMT, physical therapy, or occupational therapy is a plus.
  • Certified to train First Aid / CPR / AED courses is a plus.
  • Direct experience working in a hospital setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support healthcare clients in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety programs.
  • Conduct EHS audits, gap assessments, compliance reviews, and strategic program evaluations within healthcare settings.
  • Assist clients during regulatory inspections and accreditation activities, including support related to: CMS, Joint Commission, DNV, Environment of Care, Emergency Management, Fire & Life Safety.
  • Provide technical guidance and compliance support in areas such as: OSHA, CUPA, Medical Waste, Radiation Safety, Controlled Substances, Fire Department requirements, Chemical Management, Storm Water, EPA, BAAQMD and similar regional regulatory requirements.
  • Lead healthcare-focused risk management initiatives, including: Environmental Ligature and Safety Risk Assessment program development, Hazardous materials and waste management, Construction safety, Injury investigation and root cause analysis, Job hazard assessments, Policy and procedure development, Employee training strategies.
  • Lead or support accreditation readiness and compliance efforts related to the Physical Environment, Environment of Care, Emergency Management, and Fire Safety chapters.
  • Develop practical, effective programs that reduce work-related risks, illnesses, and injuries through engineering controls, administrative procedures, and personal protective equipment.
  • Manage large projects and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.
  • May supervise, mentor, or provide technical guidance to junior staff.
