About The Position

We are seeking Senior Healthcare Consultants to support our client's technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging gaps between clinical workflows and technical deployment. This opportunity is open to both full-time salaried employees and independent contractors. These positions may be hybrid and require some travel throughout Atlantic Provinces.

Requirements

  • Clinical background in hospital, clinic, or allied health settings, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Care, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare consulting, digital health, or health IT, with exposure to system implementations, large-scale transformation, or interoperability initiatives.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech, OSCAR) and strong knowledge of interoperability standards (FHIR APIs, HL7).
  • Experience with digital health tools such as patient portals and engagement platforms (e.g., Ocean by CognisantMD), combined with knowledge of healthcare regulations (PHIPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA) and reporting requirements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with proven ability to bridge clinical, technical, and policy teams and support change adoption through workflow documentation and process mapping.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a track record of improving healthcare outcomes and adaptability in dynamic, evolving environments.

  • Experience with Oracle Health/Cerner implementations or similar clinical information systems would be an asset.
  • Previous work on health system transformation projects or large-scale digital health rollouts would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge clinical and technical teams in health IT or digital health contexts would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on workflows and requirements.
  • Develop and document clinical resources such as location inventories, stakeholder registries, and workflow guides to support solution design and implementation.
  • Assess and recommend device requirements (clinical and non-clinical) to support workflow efficiency, compliance, and readiness for deployment.
  • Identify and manage integration risks and dependencies related to device deployment, clinical workflows, and interoperability.
  • Provide expertise in healthcare interoperability, advising on FHIR APIs, EMR integration strategies, and technical solution design.
  • Ensure efficient patient record exchange while maintaining compliance with privacy and security regulations.
  • Support digital health solutions and patient engagement platforms (e.g., Ocean by CognisantMD) to enhance data collection and clinical workflows.
  • Enhance health data reporting and analytics frameworks to strengthen evidence-based, data-driven decision-making.
