Senior Hardware Operations Program Specialist

Ōura•San Francisco, CA
•$143,650 - $169,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Oura is hiring a Senior Hardware Operations Program Specialist for its NPI Supply Chain Operations team. This role owns the financial backbone of multiple new-product-introduction (NPI) hardware programs, managing and reconciling budgets across programs and contract manufacturers while supporting factory builds and connecting operational activity to program spending. The position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Finance, and directly with contract manufacturers. Most of the role focuses on budget development, tracking, and reconciliation: monitoring build spend, resolving forecast-to-actual variances, maintaining consolidated reporting, managing fund reallocations, preparing leadership updates, and maintaining fiscal integrity and audit readiness. The role also supports factory builds from prototype through early mass production by tracking material readiness, risks, build plans, and open issues, and coordinating with internal Operations and contract manufacturer teams during line bring-up. It contributes to workflow automation and data visibility and prepares concise management and executive briefings. This is a hybrid position requiring work from Oura’s San Francisco office 2–3 days per week, with up to 10% global travel. The listed Region 1 (Bay Area) salary range is $143,650–$169,000.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in financial planning or budget management, program management, supply chain, or manufacturing operations; a combination of budget and hardware operations experience is ideal.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and experience building and maintaining complex, multi-program budget and reconciliation workbooks.
  • Experience with AI tools, automation, or scripting—such as Python, SQL, no-code/low-code tools, or LLM-based tooling—to streamline budget tracking or reporting workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain detailed financial and operational data clearly to executive audiences.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage concurrent workstreams and deadlines.
  • Ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority across internal teams and external contract manufacturers.
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office 2–3 days per week; San Francisco in-office work is required.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer electronics or the hardware industry, ideally supporting NPI programs.
  • Familiarity with NPI phase gates (Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT/MP) and contract manufacturer or factory operations.
  • Experience with database or statistical software such as SQL, SPSS, or SAS.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual fiscal-year budget development for Operations in coordination with Supply Chain and Engineering.
  • Track and reconcile NPI program budgets across concurrent hardware programs, including operations builds, tooling, and NPI-related capital and operating expenses.
  • Work with program leads, Sourcing, Engineering, and Finance to understand forecast-to-actual variances and drive resolution.
  • Maintain and improve budget consolidation workbooks and reporting tools, producing executive-ready summaries.
  • Manage and document reallocation of funds across programs and cost categories as priorities change.
  • Prepare and present regular budget status updates to program and functional leadership, proactively identifying risks and open items.
  • Maintain fiscal integrity and audit readiness across tracked spending.
  • Improve budget tracking processes and tools to reduce manual reconciliation and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Align with Cost Innovation and CapEx teams on build-cost actualization and cost control.
  • Support factory NPI builds from Proto/EVT/DVT/PVT through early mass production by tracking material readiness, build risks, build matrix planning, material drive, and open issues.
  • Coordinate internal Operations teams and contract manufacturer operations teams during line bring-up and builds.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows, and build or contribute to tools that reduce manual effort and improve data visibility.
  • Analyze and consolidate cross-functional data into concise, actionable management and executive briefings.
  • Help bring production lines up on schedule and within budget, linking factory build activity to program financials.
  • Travel globally up to 10% and work from the San Francisco office as required.
