About The Position

Agile Decision Sciences is seeking a Front End GUI Engineer to support the RSCCE system for the CECOM Army Software Innovation Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground. RSCCE is a long-lived, mission-critical system built on legacy Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) VAX/OpenVMS platforms. Its operator displays use the Sherrill-Lubinski Graphical Modeling System (SL-GMS) on DECwindows Motif, and its application code is written in Fortran 77. The engineer will sustain, troubleshoot, and enhance the system’s graphical operator interface, working alongside the RSCCE Cyber Engineer and Database Engineer. The role supports a system that directly supports strategic satellite communications and involves both legacy-system maintenance and analysis and planning for modernization or migration. Work is onsite at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, in a secure Government lab. Occasional CONUS travel may be required. The employee must be able to work in an environment handling classified information and follow all AT/INFOSEC/OPSEC requirements. Active DoW Secret clearance or higher is required; candidates without at least Secret clearance will not be considered.

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, modify, and enhance RSCCE operator graphical displays and front-end applications built in SL-GMS, DECwindows Motif, and Fortran 77 on DEC VAX/OpenVMS.
  • Work with system users and operators to capture requirements and translate them into software and display design changes.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, patch, update, and install software on the RSCCE baseline.
  • Resolve application errors and software bugs; identify root causes and recommend mitigation or resolution actions.
  • Implement enhancements through RFCs and other change vehicles, such as IAVAs, following the CECOM SEC Change Advisory Board (CAB) process.
