About The Position

The Senior GSE Shop Manager is responsible for overall leadership of GSE maintenance operations at an assigned location. This role oversees fleet performance, workforce management, safety, customer relationships, and financial results in a 24/7 environment. The position serves as the primary point of accountability for operational success and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license (if required by location)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in GSE, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance
  • Experience managing multi-shift operations and leading supervisors
  • Strong understanding of maintenance operations and performance metrics
  • Experience managing customer relationships in a service environment
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting and cost control
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and operational compliance requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required airport credentials
  • Must be available to support a 24/7 operation as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily GSE maintenance operations and fleet availability
  • Monitor performance metrics (e.g., PM compliance, equipment uptime, repair timelines)
  • Identify trends and implement improvements to maintain operational efficiency
  • Ensure effective use of CMMS and accurate maintenance documentation
  • Lead and develop Shift Supervisors and training personnel
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and support workforce planning
  • Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, and employee development
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA requirements, and airport regulations
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
  • Reinforce safe work practices across all shifts
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer relationships
  • Lead operational reviews and communicate performance results
  • Ensure contractual service levels and KPIs are met
  • Manage operating budget, labor, and parts expenses
  • Oversee shop operations, equipment, and facility standards
  • Coordinate inventory and parts management
  • Prepare reports and communicate operational performance to leadership
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
