About The Position

Commercial Banking supports clients with tailored financing, risk management, and strategic advice to help their businesses grow with confidence. As a Senior Group Portfolio Manager, you'll lead portfolio management and first line of accountability risk management activities for a defined group of commercial or corporate banking clients, ensuring work is executed in a way that reflects CIBC's risk culture and business priorities. You'll provide leadership to Portfolio Managers, Associates, and Credit Analysts by setting clear direction, building team capability, and creating an inclusive, high-performing environment. In this role, you'll guide underwriting and credit decisions, advise on deal structure, oversee portfolio maintenance activities, and act as a key escalation point to support a strong client onboarding and closing experience. You'll also represent the group in portfolio reviews, loan committee discussions, control activities, and regulatory or internal review processes, while partnering closely with Relationship Managers, Market Leaders, Group Heads, Credit Risk, and Portfolio Administration teams. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

  • Ability to develop people with intention by providing clear feedback, removing obstacles, and creating opportunities for team members to grow their skills and perform at their best.
