About The Position

The Group Manager – Georgia Middle Market leads a team of Senior Relationship Managers within the Southeast Corporate and Regional Commercial Banking group. This role is accountable for driving new business development, portfolio growth, revenue generation, and strong credit discipline across a portfolio of Commercial & Industrials Middle Market clients ($50 million–$1 billion in annual revenue) headquartered in Georgia. The Group Manager serves as the primary escalation point for complex transactions and relationships while partnering closely with product and credit teams to deliver prudent, profitable growth. Anticipated Base Pay Rate Range: $210-797 - $256,793

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 15+ Years in commercial banking
  • Experience specific to Regional Commercial & Corporate Banking lending may be required depending on the role
  • Strong relationship management and business development/sales skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of financial analysis; credit analysis skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to stay abreast of industry trends, as well as legislation and regulations that impact the business
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and community relations skills
  • Travel up to 50% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Actively expands the team’s network of clients and centers of influence by introducing new prospects to drive growth opportunities.
  • Serves as the primary escalation point for complex client relationships and transactions, resolving issues and removing obstacles to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Personally manages select client relationships as needed.
  • Partners with the team to generate revenue, grow deposits, and increase fee income.
  • Collaborates with product partners to execute cross‑sell strategies that deepen relationships and enhance overall profitability.
  • Actively participates in industry associations, committees, and community boards that support business development efforts and enhance the Bank’s visibility and reputation throughout the Georgia market.
  • Develops and maintains a strong network of centers of influence (e.g., attorneys, accountants, financial advisors) to generate high‑quality referral opportunities and support ongoing business development.
  • Leads, monitors, and coaches team performance to ensure strong client relationships are established and maintained.
  • Sets clear expectations and takes appropriate actions to achieve individual and team goals, including personally sourcing deals when necessary.
  • Implements corrective actions when performance objectives are not met and leverages experience and expertise to build and sustain a high‑performing team.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, development, compensation input, performance evaluations, regulatory training , and managing employee relations matters.
  • Partners with the Southeast Market Executive to develop and execute a strategic plan for the assigned Commercial Banking group.
  • Translates strategy into actionable business plans, including establishing and tracking individualized production and revenue goals, managing pipelines, and forecasting results for senior management
  • Ensures proactive oversight of portfolio credit quality through timely financial statement collection, monitoring client compliance with ongoing reporting requirements, and accurate financial analysis.
  • Partners closely with the credit team to identify emerging risks and recommend or implement appropriate corrective actions.
