About The Position

This role leads the transformation of domestic and international inbound logistics for Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA). The Senior Group Manager is accountable for reshaping how inbound logistics is executed across North America, leveraging advanced planning tools, automation, data, and digital capabilities to strengthen service and operational stability, driving broader end-to-end network fulfillment performance. This position owns execution excellence and continuous improvement across inbound freight operations and financial management, responsible for delivering results at scale by translating strategy into disciplined execution and continuously elevating the inbound network's performance as a critical part of the CCA fulfillment ecosystem. The leader operates through managers and strategic partners, builds strong cross-functional and external relationships, and develops leadership capability to sustain a performance-driven, technology-enabled logistics organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Preference for a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain, with exposure to both strategic and executional responsibilities. (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
  • Proven track record of directly leading teams, driving results, holding self and others accountable, and managing performance and development as a People Leader.
  • Demonstrated strategic orientation and comfort operating in ambiguity; ability to challenge norms, simplify complexity, and design pragmatic solutions for a dynamic logistics network.
  • Proven experience in international or cross‑border logistics, multi‑mode logistics (e.g., ocean, truckload, LTL, air), and/or EV infrastructure / battery logistics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to influence at multiple levels, build alignment across functions, and represent GM CCA in external forums.
  • Ability to analyze data, develop actionable insights, and present concisely to all levels of leadership (written and verbal).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse and cross‑functional teams, mentor and motivate others, and drive followership through change.
  • Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time, domestically and internationally, to visit facilities, partners, and cross‑functional stakeholders.

  • Developed skillset with data and logistics tools such as Power BI, advanced Excel, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and emerging technologies (e.g., AI‑enabled analytics).
  • Demonstrated success in building or transforming logistics organizations, including budget ownership, forecasting, and variance management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead domestic and international inbound logistics for CCA, balancing cost, service, quality, and network resiliency.
  • Serve as a logistics subject‑matter expert designing and executing business processes, digital tools, and network optimization together with his team, cross-functional experts and external partners.
  • Own budget, operating plans, and variance management, using data and business cases to drive efficiency and change.
  • Manage global logistics service providers and freight forwarders, ensuring performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with carriers, consolidation and GMCCA facilities to ensure reliable inbound material flow.
  • Manage and support GM and partner cross‑docks in the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Support truckload and LTL inbound bids, routing strategy, and carrier performance.
  • Oversee EV battery logistics and provide inbound support for Accessories.
  • Partner with Finance and logistics segment leaders on planning, reporting, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with GMCCA and enterprise teams (e.g., Operations, Purchasing, IT, Facilities) to deliver network priorities and initiatives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external partners and regulatory matters as needed.
  • Lead and develop a team of individual contributors, owning performance, development, and engagement.
  • Build talent and succession pipelines while fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
  • Lead through change by clearly communicating priorities, connecting strategy to execution, and reinforcing GM behaviors and values.
