About The Position
The YMCA at KIPP DC is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program. This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children’s lives in a supportive and collaborative afterschool environment.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working with children ages 3–10 in licensed or educational settings
- High school diploma/GED required
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for children of all abilities
Nice To Haves
- CDA or early childhood coursework preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise engaging, developmentally appropriate activities
- Design lesson plans and classroom routines that spark curiosity and learning
- Mentor and support Group Leaders in their daily responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families and leadership
- Monitor safety, attendance, and behavior to ensure a thriving environment
- Build meaningful, trusting relationships with young children
