About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a senior-level designer to specialize in creating clear, easy-to-understand graphics and diagrams from complex technical concepts. This role involves driving the design process from concept to final visual, ensuring technical accuracy, creativity, and brand alignment. The position is highly collaborative, requiring close partnership with technical writers and designers to enhance the understandability of technical content. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting technical documentation, exploring visual solutions, explaining design decisions, and incorporating feedback. This role is focused on creating educational assets with clarity and precision, rather than brand campaigns or marketing visuals. It is well-suited for individuals who excel at simplifying complex topics into clean, readable graphics and possess a keen eye for detail, alignment, and visual balance. A significant aspect of the role includes data model design, which requires patience and spatial problem-solving skills to organize disparate data points into unified, logical structures.

Requirements

5+ years of experience creating technical graphics, diagrams, or visual documentation.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, intuitive visuals.
Sharp eye for detail, accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship.
Strong visual problem-solving skills, balancing technical accuracy with clarity.
Prioritization of structural logic and clarity over decorative styling.
Portfolio demonstrating the ability to visually simplify and clarify complex concepts.
High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
Experience creating flowcharts, process diagrams, system diagrams, and other technical illustrations.
Comfort interpreting technical documentation and conducting research to understand technical concepts.
Confidence in presenting design decisions, collaborating with cross-functional partners, and incorporating feedback.
Curiosity about AI and interest in using it for diagramming possibilities and workflow acceleration.
Proactive, organized self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, navigating ambiguity, and driving work independently.
Patience and spatial awareness for organizing large, complex data models into clean, unified structures without frustration.
A related degree is required.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with data models or system architecture diagrams.
Experience with Salesforce, CRM platforms, or enterprise software products.
Background in technology, developer tools, or education industries.
Experience creating visuals for technical documentation, developer content, or product education.
Existing awareness of emerging AI technologies and their industry trends, with an interest in how they can enhance graphics and diagram production.
Experience with Lucidchart and Figma.

Responsibilities

Break down complex ideas into clear, easy-to-understand graphics and diagrams.
Interpret technical documentation and collaborate with subject matter experts to create accurate and effective visuals.
Design icons, illustrations, flowcharts, system diagrams, data model diagrams, and other technical graphics.
Explore multiple design approaches to find the clearest and most effective way to communicate complex information.
Partner closely with technical writers, product managers, and designers throughout the design process.
Present design concepts, explain your thinking, and iterate based on stakeholder feedback.
Manage multiple projects and stakeholders while proactively communicating progress and timelines.
Ensure every deliverable meets brand, accessibility, and documentation standards while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
Continuously help refine visual assets, templates, and diagramming approaches to improve the overall documentation experience.
