About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Controller, this individual performs functions related to Program Grants and Grant compliance and oversight and Treasury Management including pulling down daily banking transactions to be entered and reconciled. This individual also performs a variety of complex clerical and accounting tasks to include accruals, expense monitoring and cash flow requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or work Equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of Accounting Experience
  • Great Plains Software proficiency is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions for all bank accounts, including cash, check, ach and wire initiation.
  • Assists in monthly closing procedures, including the standard monthly journal entries.
  • Instrumental in creating streamline procedures with new technologies and systems.
  • Reviews and Reconciles Trial Balance Accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Propose correcting entries when necessary.
  • Act as backup to the other staff members and cross trains to learn their roles.
  • Tracks Prepaid Expenses and prepares monthly amortization schedules.
  • Assists with Bank Reconciliation when issues arise.
  • Ad Hoc Reports as needed
  • Insures strict internal controls
  • Creates and updates written procedures for all assigned tasks
  • Other accounting duties as assigned
  • Prepares monthly grant packets and funding draw sheets
  • Review all other grant packets monthly for draw or reimbursement requests.
  • Tracks and maintains Grants received from Federal Funders and follows guidance and requirements.
  • Maintains and oversees SEFA reporting
  • Maintains grant agreements, Memos of Understanding and other documents pertaining to grant management.
  • Creates written procedures and conducts training for grant management.
  • Continuing education pertaining to grant requirements through webinars and circulars.
  • Assists in the implementation of process improvement and recommendations for new technologies to assist in processes.
