About The Position

The Senior Global Merchandise Planner will use data to inform global assortment plans for an assigned group of product categories to maximize margin, sales and meet financial goals. Reporting to the Director of Global Merchandise Planning, you will work with Global Merchants and Product Development to set costing and product count targets. You will also work with Brand Strategy and Finance to set long range category plans by providing strategic support to promote brand strategy and vision. Pre-Season Work with Global Merchants to manage the Merchandise Financial plans and the development of seasonal sub-category productivity plans and targets (assortment architecture) for assigned product categories. Develop a tops down global perspective on seasonal investment strategies which focus on monetizing big ideas and seasonal themes. Participate in seasonal checkpoints and cross-functional milestones with both regional and global teams to ensure investment goals are aligned. Accountable to "balance" Global Merchandising aspirations with solid foundations of "facts" and delivering a solid global plan. Leverage leadership as the principal liaison between Global Merchandising, Regional Merchandise Planning, Product Development and Global Supply Planning. Proactively identify areas of risk and opportunity for capacity management for the Supply Planning teams through assessment of bottoms up plans. In-Season Perform financial risk assessment against sales forecasts Analyze and assess the global sales performance of assigned product categories. Help prepare and participate in Global monthly business review meetings Proactively present recommendations and other analysis to manager to create short and long-term business goals Promote and direct development of analysis that yields actionable insights to improve effectiveness of global product assortments Post-Season Recap KPI's for the season and detail risk, opportunities and drivers Hindsight development process

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; Finance, Operations, Retail Management or Business Management required (or equivalent work experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in: retail merchandise planning, merchandising, demand forecasting; inventory management, allocation or replenishment; financial planning or financial analysis experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel required (can perform complex functions); can organize and manipulate large quantities of data to guide our decisions
  • Demonstrated data analysis to interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data
  • Retail math skills, understanding of forecasting methodology
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally across teams, global regions, and cultures
  • Owns business performance while leveraging complex data to tell clear, actionable stories that influence decisions
  • Leader who consistently brings new ideas and solutions to improve business performance
  • Drives initiatives independently, ensuring alignment to broader business strategy
  • Challenges the status quo and continuously looks for ways to optimize processes and results
