About The Position

At Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, a Danaher operating company, we are seeking a Senior Global Commodity Manager to develop and execute global sourcing and category strategies for the Biochemicals commodity and associated sub-commodities. This role has a spend responsibility of approximately $234m per year and is crucial for driving cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability, risk management, and supply chain continuity. You will partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, R&D, Planning, and Supplier Quality to optimize the end-to-end Biochemical supply base, supporting business growth and operational excellence. This position is part of the Global Strategic Procurement team and offers remote working flexibility. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
12+ years of procurement/sourcing experience in chemicals, biochemicals, or biologics, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Experience of sourcing FDA regulated products preferred.
5+ years managing biochemical reagent categories (e.g., antibodies, antigens, enzymes, beads) or operating in a technical role supporting sourcing.
Working knowledge of biological reagents used in immunoassays (or other FDA regulated products) and their impact on product performance, stability, and manufacturing scalability.
Experience partnering with R&D and Operations to resolve reagent and supplier issues.
Demonstrated expertise in negotiations, contract management, and sourcing events such as RFI/RFP, spend benchmarking, E Tools such as E Auction with ability to evaluate suppliers on technical capability, quality, and total cost using TCO modelling.
Being highly collaborative with such functions as New Product Introduction, R&D, Supplier Development and Quality to build roadmaps and Sourcing Strategies for the Biochem Category and Subcategories.
Ability to travel up to 20%, including domestic and international trips as business needs require.

Global sourcing within the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors, specifically involving high-purity biochemicals, specialty chemicals, or regulated raw materials.
Existing senior executive relationships with representative suppliers.
Working collaboratively across large organizations, including spend pooling, joint operating company negotiations, collaboration on risk mitigation strategies.
Managing procurement activities in regulated chemical environments, including compliance with REACH, TSCA, PFAS-elimination programs, or other relevant chemical-regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop, define, and execute global category strategies for chemicals/biochemicals, delivering cost reduction, quality, delivery, sustainability goals and supply risk-mitigation.
Evaluate suppliers, lead competitive events (RFIs/RFPs/auctions), negotiate agreements, drive preferred-supplier adoption, and manage supplier performance to meet Beckman Coulter's needs.
Develop spend analysis, market intelligence, project repository maintenance, financial analysis, budget/price guidance, and track/report savings against annual objectives.
Lead without direct authority, guiding other functions and collaborating strongly with R&D/NPI teams to provide strategic direction on supplier selection.
Adopt and use structured continuous-improvement tools (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, DBS) to improve cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and cash across Beckman Coulter.
