About The Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Senior Gift Officer, Principal Gifts, will have primary responsibility for raising philanthropic support from major and principal gift prospects and donors. The position also requires identifying and cultivating relationships with new prospective donors. The Senior Gift Officer will focus on building relationships with donors and prospects with a capacity of $250,000 to $5,000,000. The Senior Gift Officer will be a key player in the execution of a successful grateful patient program and will work closely with physicians as assigned by the Executive Director of Development and approved by the Foundation President.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• 8 years of successful major and planned giving fundraising experience including the successful closure of six and seven figure gifts (required)

Responsibilities

• Build and manage an active portfolio of 50–125 donors; implement strategies for cultivation and relationship-building to close and steward gifts of $250,000 and above.
• With the support of the Executive Director of Development and the Strategic Research and Analytics Director, follow a strategy for identification, qualification and cultivation of new prospects capable of providing six and seven figure gifts.
• The position calls for exemplary interpersonal skills, the ability to develop strategic, donor-centric proposal concepts, and the ability to maintain excellent relationships with donors and top administrators while representing the organization's mission with the utmost professionalism, trustworthiness, and commitment.
• Work closely with Foundation leadership to develop comprehensive development plans for assigned service lines/IPNs to accelerate fundraising efforts. Advise an involve leaders in fundraising strategies and the development of fundable opportunities consistent with Roper St. Francis priorities.
• Work with teammates to help lead proposal development. Work in partnership with physicians and leadership to conceptualize, prepare, and present funding proposals and other materials necessary to solicit and close gifts, including those requiring negotiations and complex gift agreements and payout strategies. Assist with case statement development, talking points, proposals, and briefing materials for these activities.
• Develop sophisticated, purposeful engagement activities for assigned prospects: one-on-one tour and meetings with stakeholders such as executive and physician leaders.
• Prepare briefings and other reports for the Foundation President, Executive Director of Development, Board members, staff, and other volunteers who are collaborating on Principal Gift solicitations.
• Grateful Patient Liaison: Advance grateful patient relationships through partnerships with RSFH leadership, physicians, and clinical care teams, cultivating relationships in a donor-centric manner where the needs and interests of the patient are always at the forefront.
