Skeena Gold + Silver is a Canadian mining company focused on revitalizing the Eskay Creek gold-silver mine. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will provide technical leadership and oversight for geotechnical engineering programs to ensure the safe and efficient development and operation of the Eskay Creek Project. This role involves preparing for operations by developing monitoring, inspection, and reporting programs, establishing systems and standards, and supporting the creation of Ground Control Management Plans and risk management frameworks. The position also requires coordinating investigations and data collection, and collaborating with various teams and external consultants. During operations, the engineer will support open pit slope design and stability, lead geotechnical mapping and characterization, conduct slope stability assessments, and oversee waste rock dumps and historical underground workings. Responsibilities include managing monitoring instrumentation, providing practical recommendations for mine planning and operations, and maintaining geotechnical databases. The role also emphasizes safety, compliance, and risk management, ensuring adherence to regulations and corporate policies, and developing Ground Control Management Plans. Leadership and collaboration are key, involving mentoring junior staff, serving as the primary geotechnical resource, and fostering a positive, safety-focused culture.
