About The Position

Kleinfelder is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer / Project Manager in the Mid-Atlantic Region, based in Exton, PA. This role offers an opportunity to execute project work, collaborate with senior geotechnical engineers, mentor junior staff, and engage with clients. The position involves coordinating multidisciplinary teams for proposals and project execution, managing field exploration programs, performing engineering analyses (soil and rock classification, foundation capacity, settlement, slope stability, geohazard evaluation, ground improvement, and earth retention systems), preparing geotechnical engineering reports and construction specifications/drawings, actively participating during the construction phase, interacting with clients, and developing scopes of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil/geotechnical engineering
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Clean driving record and the ability to pass a drug test required

  • Master's degree
  • PE Candidate within commuting distance of Exton, PA
  • Experience with geotechnical software packages including L-Pile, Uni-pile, SHAFT, gINT, GRL WEAP, GEO STUDIO, and FAD

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with multidiscipline team to prepare proposals and execute projects
  • Safely coordinate and execute field exploration programs, construction observation, and associated documentation
  • Complete engineering analysis including: soil and rock classification; shallow and deep foundation capacity, immediate and consolidation settlement; slope stability analysis, geohazard evaluation, ground improvement, and earth retention systems
  • Partner with internal and external multidisciplinary teams during project development
  • Prepare Geotechnical Engineering reports
  • Prepare construction specifications and drawings
  • Be actively involved during the construction phase of projects
  • Positively interact with client representatives
  • Development of scope of work, project budgets, work breakdown structures, and schedules
