About The Position

Haley & Aldrich is seeking a Senior Geologist 3 to join their growing team. This role will provide senior technical leadership for complex geologic site-characterization projects, serving industrial and energy clients. The position involves developing investigation strategies, conceptual site models, overseeing field programs, interpreting geologic data, and translating technical findings into practical solutions. The Senior Geologist 3 will also mentor multidisciplinary teams, support business development, and strengthen client relationships. This is a full-time position based in Cincinnati, OH, requiring local and regional travel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
12+ years of related Geologic Site characterization experience.
Professional registration or certification, as applicable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including verbally communicating and presenting project information to clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders.
Applies emotional intelligence to achieve higher impact on project team and client communications.
Proficient in use of Microsoft 365 products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Office.
Demonstrated ability to work on interdisciplinary project teams.
Familiarity with industry-standard geologic modeling software.
Current Professional Geologist registration.
Demonstrated knowledge of Ohio environmental regulations and experience applying them to industrial or energy projects.
Expertise with industry-standard geologic modeling software.
Demonstrated business-development capabilities, including client relationship development and technical proposal support.
Able to travel locally and regionally, including occasional overnight stays.

OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead the execution of project work and proposals on large and/or complex multi-disciplinary projects to align with company-defined business objectives and client expectations in partnership with the project team.
Regularly coach, mentor, and direct staff in the quality execution of projects and preparation of analyses, technical reports and other deliverables, with a focus on developing skills to support their professional growth.
Demonstrate strong technical competence, knowledge of codes and regulations, and professional standards of practice to assigned tasks.
Leverage your understanding of codes, regulations, and professional standard of practice associated with project work in your area of expertise to align project scopes with client objectives and regulatory requirements to deliver superior client value.
Leverage your learning to increase the technical capabilities of others and the overall technical performance of the company.
Excel in your field by engaging with external organizations, delivering internal and external presentations, and contributing to technical publications.
Lead the development of geologic site characterization plans and oversee the implementation of field investigation programs.
Lead project teams with the technical evaluation and interpretation of site characterization and geologic data, develop conceptual site models, and work with other multidisciplinary team members to assess the impact to project goals.
Maintain a high-level understanding of the current state of the practice in the geologic discipline.
Lead all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.

Support business-development activities for industrial and energy markets by cultivating client relationships, identifying opportunities, and contributing technical strategy to proposals and pursuits.
