Senior GenAI & Data Engineer
About The Position
CGI is seeking a Senior Gen AI Software Engineer with strong hands on experience in Generative AI, data engineering, and AWS cloud technologies. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Amazon Bedrock, Python, and PySpark, along with a strong background in data pipelines and systems integration. The role requires the ability to translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions while working independently and collaborating effectively with technical and business teams. This position requires onsite presence in Reston 3–5 days per week, with local candidates preferred. This position is required in one of the following locations: Reston, VA
Requirements
- 5 years hands on experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), including AI agents and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Experience developing enterprise AI solutions using Amazon Bedrock
- Advanced development skills in Python and PySpark
- Strong data engineering experience, including data pipelines, data models, integrations, and large scale data processing
- Strong hands on experience with AWS cloud native and serverless services, including Lambda, Glue, and Step Functions
- Experience with containers and event driven processing
- Ability to translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions and implementation approaches
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams
