About The Position

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Gateway Agent (Air Export) to join their team. This role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of time-critical, temperature control, and pharma cargo. The agent will serve as a key resource for operations and process excellence, driving operational efficiency in gateway operations, maintaining compliance with company standards, and supporting business objectives through consistent execution and collaboration. The role combines operational experience and a customer-focused approach to deliver high-quality outcomes for high-touch cargo. The position requires in-person collaboration three days a week with the flexibility for remote work two days a week. The work schedule is 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific time on Mondays and Fridays, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday through Thursday, based on candidate location. Flexibility to work every other Saturday is also required, depending on business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years of Global Forwarding industry experience
  • Provide evening and weekend coverage when required to support client and business operations

Responsibilities

  • Manage the international air shipment lifecycle, from purchase order issuance through final cargo delivery
  • Prepare, process, and assemble documentation for time-critical, temperature-controlled, and pharmaceutical air shipments
  • Ensure shipment documentation is accurate, complete, and released to carriers, customers, and agents on time
  • Execute and coordinate shipments in accordance with customer requirements, standard operating procedures, and industry regulations
  • Create, maintain, and update shipments in Navisphere, ensuring accurate data and a high level of shipment integrity
  • Apply industry expertise and critical thinking to resolve complex shipment challenges and minimize service disruptions
  • Serve as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for internal teams, global offices, agents, and external vendors
  • Provide guidance on time-critical, temperature-controlled, and pharmaceutical shipment requirements, processes, and initiatives
  • Build collaborative relationships across the department, branch, and global network to support seamless shipment execution
  • Identify and recommend process and technology improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen service, and improve financial performance
