About The Position

Onsemi EFK is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Furnace Technician for its state-of-the-art 300mm factory in East Fishkill, New York. Equipment/Maintenance Technicians sustain and run the fab floor, with primary responsibility for resolving equipment and process issues. This is a shift position in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, working a compressed schedule of 12-hour shifts. The D2 shift is Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The technician monitors, controls, and qualifies 300mm diffusion furnace semiconductor equipment; performs preventive maintenance, quality checks, and troubleshooting; and helps train others. The role includes responding to factory-system and equipment errors, recovering from process and tool interruptions, reviewing process-quality indicators, optimizing tool performance, and completing required documentation. The technician follows health, safety, and environmental procedures, participates in continuous improvement and skills development, and works with a global team. Employees in this role may also be required to participate in the site Emergency Response Brigade and support emergency preparedness activities. A $5,000 sign-on award is paid in four quarterly installments of $1,250, subject to applicable taxes and payroll deductions. The first payment is payable within the first 30 days of employment, with three additional quarterly payments thereafter. The employee must remain active to receive each award; amounts already received do not need to be repaid if employment ends for any reason. The stated base salary range is $23.51 to $48.17 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Final pay depends on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. Onsemi states that it offers a competitive benefits package.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
6–8 years of relevant experience.
Fluency in written and verbal English.
Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule, including in a cleanroom environment in accordance with semiconductor industry and Onsemi protocols and requirements.
Ability to wear required cleanroom and safety protective clothing and equipment throughout a 12-hour day, excluding breaks.
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds periodically during the shift for preventive maintenance and/or process issues.
Ability to work standing for most of a 12-hour shift, excluding breaks.

Responsibilities

Monitor, control, and qualify state-of-the-art 300mm diffusion furnace semiconductor equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance activities and teach others how to perform them.
Respond to error messages from factory systems and/or equipment.
Review Statistical Process Control charts and other system indicators for process quality, and respond to out-of-control conditions, including troubleshooting defects.
Perform visual inspections and quality checks, and teach others how to perform them.
Recover from process and tool interruptions.
Identify potential improvements and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization, and cost.
Complete required reporting and documentation.
Understand and follow health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements.
Participate in continuous improvement, learning, and skills development.
Work effectively as a team member with a global team, train new team members as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Perform activities safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
If required, participate in the site Emergency Response Brigade and support emergency preparedness activities, including maintaining required training, certifications, and response readiness.
