About The Position

The Maples Group is seeking an accomplished Senior Fund Accountant to join their fund accounting team within their financial services business in Montreal. The role involves client-related and internal administrative functions, liaising with international investment managers, prime brokers, and other transaction counterparties, and delivering high levels of client service in accordance with internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Qualified accountant with an excellent academic background
At least 3 years of experience in accounting for investment products, ideally with single-manager hedge funds and private equity funds
Strong written communication and verbal presentation skills

Prior fund administration experience
Advent Geneva accounting software experience
Investran experience
Direct experience of processing subscriptions, redemptions, share transfers and dividend payments
Experience with series and equalisation accounting methodologies
Experience with fee structures for both hedge funds and private equity
Experience with anti-money laundering and relevant regulatory requirements
Clear understanding of private equity and SPV accounting
Knowledge of securities commonly encountered in the hedge fund industry, including equities, bonds, swaps, options, and futures, and the ability to account for these securities

Responsibilities
