About The Position

Gen II Fund Services is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to support private equity fund administration. The role offers exposure to the full private equity fund lifecycle and funds in areas such as sports, oil and gas, real estate, and credit. The position contributes to technical excellence, client service, and operational integrity while supporting process improvements and fund operations. The role includes examining accounting records; reviewing workpapers; preparing fund communications and financial statements; calculating carried interest, profit-and-loss allocations, and tax expense or benefits; analyzing investment documents and structures; and supporting employee training and fund transitions or setup. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with three days per week in the office and two days remotely. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Economics, and/or Finance.
Working knowledge of consolidations with non-controlling interest.
Working knowledge of realized and unrealized waterfall allocations.
At least 2 years of experience in a private equity fund accounting position.

Responsibilities

Examine and analyze accounting records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards.
Review workpapers and prepare capital call and distribution letters.
Calculate carried interest and allocate profits and losses under fund governing agreements, including special allocations for blocked or tax-exempt partners.
Prepare consolidated financial statements with footnotes.
Analyze investment documents and set up investment structures, including holding companies, AIVs, and blockers.
Calculate current and deferred tax expense or benefit and related deferred tax assets and liabilities.
Train new employees and assist with new fund transitions and/or setup.
