About The Position

At Ocorian, we're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Senior Fund Accountant to join our growing Fund Accounting team. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years' experience in fund accounting, ideally within private equity, venture capital, or alternative investments.
  • Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, including capital allocations, management fees, carried interest, and waterfalls.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP (macro experience is advantageous).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA qualified or actively working towards CPA certification.
  • Experience working within a fund administrator, advisory firm, or financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and reporting systems such as Dynamo and QuickBooks Online.
  • Experience supporting multiple fund structures and investment strategies simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual fund financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Maintain general ledgers, post journal entries, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Assist with Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and financial reporting packages.
  • Calculate and review management fees, carried interest allocations, fund waterfalls, and investor allocations.
  • Support capital call and distribution processes.
  • Interpret and apply fund governing documents, including Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs), Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs), and subscription agreements.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of fund accounting services.
  • Respond to client and stakeholder queries professionally and efficiently.
  • Support multiple fund structures and investment strategies while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax service providers.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audit and tax deliverables.
  • Respond to auditor and tax-related queries in a timely manner.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of fund accounting procedures and controls.
  • Support initiatives that drive service excellence and operational effectiveness.
