Senior Functional Consultant - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
About The Position
New Charter Technologies, is seeking a Senior Functional Consultant – Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (in other companies this person could hold the title of Senior D365 Business Central Consultant, ERP Functional Consultant — Dynamics 365 BC, Microsoft Dynamics BC Implementation Lead), to join our Software Solutions team and lead ERP implementations for growing organizations. In this role, you will lead full-cycle Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations, guiding clients through discovery, solution design, configuration, data migration, testing, and go-live. You will collaborate with executive stakeholders, finance teams, operations leaders, and technical developers to architect scalable ERP solutions that align with business objectives while leveraging Business Central, Power BI, and third-party integrations. To be successful in this role, you will bring deep expertise across finance, procurement, quote-to-cash, inventory management, and system integrations within D365 Business Central. You will confidently lead discovery workshops, conduct fit-gap analysis, produce functional design documentation, and ensure seamless data migration and user adoption through structured testing and training programs. Work Authorization Requirement: This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be physically located and authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must be able to work for any U.S. employer without current or future sponsorship requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) ERP implementation experience
- Proven experience leading full lifecycle ERP implementations including configuration and data migration
- Strong expertise in Finance, Procurement, Integrations, Planning & Forecasting, and Inventory Management
- Experience facilitating executive-level workshops and cross-functional stakeholder meetings
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Order Management and Pricing modules
- Experience with Power BI reporting and analytics
- Microsoft Dynamics certifications (MB-800 or related)
- Experience working with both technical developers and non-technical business stakeholders
- Demonstrated success delivering complex ERP transformation projects

Responsibilities
- Lead client discovery and solution design workshops
- Configure Dynamics 365 Business Central modules including Finance, Procurement & Sourcing, Planning, and Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain Solution Design Documents (SDDs) and Functional Design Documents (FDDs)
- Create Functional Specifications for customizations and integrations
- Oversee system setup, initialization, and configuration
- Lead data extraction, transformation, validation, and migration of master and transactional data
- Design and execute test scripts, Conference Room Pilots (CRPs), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions
- Develop user guides and deliver end-user training
- Validate deployments and confirm solution alignment with project objectives
- Provide ongoing customer support and optimization recommendations
