Come work as a Senior Functional Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)! Reporting to the designated Regional Manager or Director, the Senior Functional Analyst leverages business and technical knowledge to ensure that assigned business systems effectively support business strategies, objectives, processes and practices for an assigned business area. Responsible to provide leadership and coordination for ensuring that functional Business Systems issues are resolved effectively and in a timely manner and continually looks for opportunities to maximize usage of the system to ensure on-going business process improvement. As the primary point of contact for the designated business area users (Employee Engagement/Human Resources, Scheduling & Timekeeping, Finance, Payroll, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable and Revenue Services, etc) across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) and Providence Health Care (PHC), the Senior Functional Analyst is the acknowledged expert in the designated Business Systems’ modules and drives continuous process and system improvement to align with business objectives. Provides functional leadership and assistance to executive leaders to strategic planning and implement business objectives. Works with users to troubleshoot system problems, test system solutions, establish clear lines of communication and ensure clear visibility to critical functional issues. Provides work direction to IMIS team members to address technical issues and works with other corporate departments as well as counterparts in other business areas to mitigate risk around shared elements and critical system dependencies. Ensures established operating standards and policies are adhered to. Configures system changes affecting system processing and changes to common data elements shared across modules, writes queries to pull information from the system and conducts system audits to ensure data integrity. Identifies opportunities to further take advantage of the system and keeps up to date with new and upcoming functionality. As a Senior Functional Analyst with Vancouver Coastal Health you will: Lead the solution areas in system development and management of integrated systems by being the key interface between business users and application engineers. Define project requirements by identifying key deliverables and translates those requirement into solutions. Formulate and defines business cope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of business requirements and system functionality. Advise executive leadership roles by providing strategic and change management planning support and works with stakeholders in all business areas to formulate scope and objectives for new initiatives. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders and strategy owners. Be responsible for creating, directing, and supervising project work plans, solution selection, development, implementation, documentation, interfacing and maintenance within established policies and guidelines. Lead and provide work direction to assigned staff, technical experts and consultants for the delivery of the integrated applications and business systems by providing functional advice and guiding the development, recommendation and implementation of policies and procedures. Maximize system functionality, integration, and skill-sets in each user group by analyzing processes using technological functionality and leading implementation efforts where appropriate. Drive continuous process improvement through the streamlining and standardization to existing processes and providing professional expertise. Develop and write business specifications for development work. Work with other stakeholders to gather requirements. Negotiate acceptable solutions to improve efficiencies, balance system maintenance with user needs and requests to deliver sustainable long term solutions. Liaise with IMITS to resolve technical environment issues that impact business systems to ensure that the business systems are available to support critical operations. Ensure that documentations regarding the business systems in use are appropriate and complete. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements. Immediately report unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel. Perform other related duties as assigned.
