About The Position

Pivotal Health is seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their Case Execution team. This team is responsible for critical components of the case execution workflow, including eligibility, batching, submissions, operations workflows, and claim orchestration. These systems are central to how Pivotal delivers results for healthcare providers dealing with complex reimbursement landscapes. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving intricate, workflow-driven backend challenges and working with data-heavy decision logic, particularly in the technically demanding areas of eligibility and batching. Pivotal Health's platform simplifies complex reimbursement workflows, helping providers dispute underpaid claims and recover owed reimbursement efficiently.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of fullstack software engineering experience with a backend focus
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience building data-heavy, workflow-oriented systems
  • Experience working on complex, data-driven decision logic or orchestration problems
  • Experience contributing to modern React-based applications
  • Comfortable operating in a collaborative, fast-moving startup environment where ownership and requirements evolve
  • Python experience; able to work effectively in a Python-based backend environment
  • Self-directed and proactive
  • Strong communicator who collaborates well across engineering, product, and adjacent teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with healthcare-specific data or HealthTech systems
  • Exposure to data-heavy architectures or problems adjacent to data engineering
  • Familiarity with tools like Snowflake, dbt, or Databricks

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve core case execution systems, owning backend development across eligibility, batching, submissions, ops workflows, and claim orchestration.
  • Tackle complex, data-driven backend problems, working through decision logic and data-heavy workflows for eligibility and batching, understanding system interactions.
  • Contribute to workflow orchestration by building and improving systems that coordinate case staging, routing, and execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Integrations team, Case Strategy team, and other engineering and product partners.
  • Contribute to internal-facing UI and ops tooling where the product requires it, though the role is primarily backend-focused.
