About The Position

Octacom, a division of DCM, is an enterprise software and services company focused on document and data management solutions. Octacom specializes in document management and workflow automation software, as well as document imaging and data capture services. Octacom’s core solutions focus on large scale digitization and financial process automation, enabling large enterprise clients across a wide range of industries to streamline and optimize their Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes. As a Senior Fullstack Developer, you will take ownership of complex, end-to-end development features across our platform. You'll work across the stack from data models and APIs to the React interfaces that consume them. You will play a key role in architectural decisions as we continue to scale up a client-diverse, enterprise-grade product that serves regulated industries. This is an hybrid role working 2-3 days in our Richmond Hill office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of fullstack development experience
  • Proven experience with .NET Framework and modern .NET (ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC)
  • Strong hands-on experience with MSSQL (T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, stored procedures), including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning
  • Solid experience developoing APIs (REST/Web APIs); experience with GraphQL, ideally using Hot Chocolate is an asset
  • Proficiency with React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend development practices
  • Experience working in multi-tenant or enterprise software environments is an asset
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and clean architecture
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with document processing, data capture, or similarly data-intensive domains

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain fullstack features spanning backend services (.NET Framework, ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC) and frontend applications (React.js)
  • Architect and implement GraphQL APIs using Hot Chocolate, alongside traditional REST/Web APIs, ensuring performant and well-documented interfaces for internal and external consumers
  • Design and optimize MSSQL database schemas, queries, and stored procedures for performance, reliability, and data integrity
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical designs and shippable features
  • Own features from planning through deployment, including code reviews, testing, and production support
  • Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and scalability constraints across the stack
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing technical guidance and code review feedback
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical roadmap planning
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to evolving engineering standards and best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across the fullstack from database to UI
