About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our dynamic team, taking ownership of the design, development, and delivery of the internal platforms and applications that power our investment and operations teams. In this role, you will build across the entire stack — from React frontends to Node services on AWS — while shaping the architecture, engineering practices, and AI-assisted development workflows of a small, high-leverage team. If you value simple, scalable design over complexity, enjoy mentoring other engineers, and are energized by building software the modern way — with AI tooling woven into every stage of the development lifecycle — this is an opportunity to have an outsized impact at a leading venture capital firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of professional fullstack development experience, with deep proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Node/Express in production environments.
  • Strong experience with AWS, including deploying and operating services (e.g., ECS, Lambda, RDS) and designing cloud-native architectures.
  • Solid relational database skills, including schema design, query optimization, and working with MySQL at production scale.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development — hands-on experience with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex, and the judgment to design team workflows and guardrails around them.
  • A track record of mentoring engineers, leading rigorous code review, and communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Sound architectural judgment, with a bias toward simple, scalable designs and a history of systems that stayed maintainable as they grew.

Responsibilities

  • Own Full-Stack Feature Delivery: Design, build, and ship features end to end across React frontends and Node/Express backend services written in TypeScript. Take work from ambiguous requirement to production, including data modeling in MySQL, API design, and deployment on AWS.
  • Design Simple, Scalable Architecture: Make pragmatic architectural decisions that favor clarity and maintainability over premature complexity. Architect services and data flows on our AWS-native stack (e.g., ECS Fargate, Lambda, RDS) that scale with the business and remain easy for a small team to operate.
  • Champion AI-Assisted Development: Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex as a core part of your daily workflow, and help design the team’s development processes around them — from planning and scaffolding to testing, review, and documentation — while maintaining a high bar for code quality and security.
  • Lead Code Review and Engineering Quality: Serve as a primary reviewer for the team, providing thorough, constructive code review that raises the quality bar. Establish and reinforce standards for testing, observability, and CI/CD practices across our repositories.
  • Mentor and Grow the Team: Mentor other engineers through pairing, design discussions, and feedback. Help teammates level up their technical judgment and their effective use of AI tooling, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Stakeholders: Communicate directly with investment and operations stakeholders to understand problems, scope solutions, set expectations, and translate business needs into well-sequenced technical work. Present trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences alike.

Benefits
