Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer — Manufacturing Systems (ERP/MES)

Baxter Aerospace Inc.•St. George, UT
•Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to lead the technical design, development, and ongoing support of an internal manufacturing and operations platform. The platform will support supply chain, inventory, purchasing, material planning, production execution, and traceability. The role involves evaluating an existing codebase, improving established software, and designing new systems. It is a hands-on senior engineering position requiring experience delivering and maintaining production business applications. The engineer will work closely with the Supply Chain & Operations Software Manager, who identifies operational needs and establishes priorities. The engineer will own technical implementation, communicate tradeoffs, and deliver reliable software in manageable phases. The engineer will partner with business users to understand workflows and translate operational needs into maintainable software; assess the existing B4Bridge application, available licensed source code, database structure, and integrations; and design, develop, test, and maintain frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and relational databases. The engineer may extend and refactor the existing licensed application or establish the architecture and foundation for a new platform. The platform will provide capabilities for product and part records, bills of materials, revision control, purchasing, receiving, inventory, material allocation, work orders, production reporting, serial and lot traceability, material consumption, quality status, and auditable transaction history. The role also involves protecting data integrity; building interfaces and dashboards for office and shop-floor users; integrating approved business systems; supporting data migration and reconciliation; implementing security and approval workflows; establishing automated tests and deployment pipelines; and maintaining releases, production support, monitoring, performance, and technical documentation. The engineer will work with IT and security personnel to deploy and support the platform in approved environments and must use approved development tools and protect proprietary, sensitive, and export-controlled information. Employment is contingent on the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret-level security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and willing to complete the required background investigation and government adjudication process. An active clearance is not required at application time; clearance eligibility is determined solely by the U.S. government. Baxter Aerospace develops satellite communication equipment used for critical missions, including aerial firefighting, aircraft camera data transmission, and deployed team coordination. The company describes its environment as collaborative and fast-paced, with an emphasis on innovation, precision, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of professional software development experience, including substantial responsibility for production business applications.
  • Ability to independently deliver full-stack application features from requirements and database design through deployment and ongoing support.
  • Strong backend development skills in C#/.NET or a comparable application framework, and ability to work within an existing technology stack.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Strong SQL and relational database design skills, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and database migrations.
  • Experience developing complex business applications involving inventory, order management, manufacturing, supply chain, financial transactions, or comparable workflows where data accuracy and auditability are essential.
  • Experience reading, debugging, extending, and refactoring an unfamiliar codebase.
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs and implementing reliable background processing.
  • Working knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Proficiency with Git, automated testing, debugging, and CI/CD practices.
  • Ability to make practical architecture decisions, explain technical tradeoffs, estimate work, and deliver incrementally.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with technical and nontechnical colleagues.
  • Ability to independently understand, explain, debug, and validate delivered code and architecture; AI-assisted development tools do not substitute for these capabilities.
  • Must meet the U.S. person eligibility requirement; applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level U.S. government security clearance.

  • Experience with multilevel bills of materials, engineering revisions, production routings, work orders, inventory reservations, and serial/lot genealogy.
  • Experience with aerospace manufacturing, quality workflows, and controlled manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience assessing inherited applications and planning modernization, refactoring, or phased replacement.
  • Experience migrating business data between systems and reconciling inventory balances, open orders, and historical records.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Azure Government, Microsoft Entra ID, managed databases, and application monitoring.
  • Experience with barcode scanning, label printing, document management, or CAD/PLM integrations.
  • Experience building operational reports and dashboards for purchasing, material availability, production readiness, and supplier performance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Supply Chain & Operations Software Manager and business users to understand workflows, document requirements, and translate operational needs into maintainable software.
  • Evaluate the existing B4Bridge application, licensed source code when available, database structure, and integrations to determine an appropriate development approach.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain frontend interfaces, backend services, APIs, and relational databases.
  • Extend and refactor an existing licensed application or establish the architecture and foundation for a new platform.
  • Develop capabilities for part and product records, bills of materials, revision control, purchasing, receiving, inventory, material allocation, work orders, and production reporting.
  • Implement serial and lot traceability, material consumption, quality status handling, and auditable transaction history.
  • Protect data integrity through database constraints, transaction management, concurrency controls, validation, and reliable error handling.
  • Build practical interfaces for office and shop-floor users, including search, data entry, reporting, and operational dashboards.
  • Integrate with approved business systems and develop tools for data import, export, migration, and reconciliation.
  • Implement authentication, role-based authorization, approval workflows, and audit logging.
  • Establish automated tests and deployment pipelines; manage application releases and database changes with appropriate validation and recovery procedures.
  • Diagnose production issues, improve performance, and maintain application monitoring and technical documentation.
