About The Position

SAIC is hiring a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to support the Department of Defense’s Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) Sustainment system. This position is 100% remote.

The engineer will design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure applications using Java, C#, or both, based on project requirements. The role also contributes to front-end development with React and uses Apache NiFi to build and manage automated data flows between systems. The engineer must be able to quickly understand legacy code, tools, and technologies; write clean, efficient, well-documented code; test and debug applications; participate in code reviews and architecture planning; and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and nine years of experience, or four years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to independently learn the domain and project technology stack to fill skill gaps.
• Proficiency in Java and/or C#, with experience building large-scale applications.
• Hands-on experience with React front-end development, using functional and/or class-based components.
• Strong understanding of database design and development, including proficiency querying SQL in an MSSQL database.
• Familiarity with REST or GraphQL API development and integration.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Proficiency with Git or another version control system.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Use Apache NiFi to design, implement, and manage automated data flows between systems.
• Quickly understand legacy code, tools, and technologies.
• Write and maintain clean, efficient, well-documented code in accordance with best practices and coding standards.
• Test and debug applications to ensure software quality, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture planning, and technical discussions to align on project goals and best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
