About The Position

Consumer Reports is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to transform AI and machine learning capabilities into tangible products for consumers and internal teams. This role focuses on product engineering, not model training, and involves delivering AI through scalable, user-friendly applications. The engineer will report to the Associate Director, AI/ML & Data Science and collaborate with AI/ML engineers and data scientists to productionize models, APIs, and data pipelines. Responsibilities include owning the full stack (frontend, backend, cloud) to ensure performance, reliability, and usability, and partnering with product and design to create clear, trustworthy, and impactful AI experiences. This is a hybrid position.

Requirements

• 5+ years building production full-stack applications with Python, JavaScript, and SQL/NoSQL systems
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience integrating software with AI/ML services, data APIs, or model endpoints as a consumer of those services
• Experience deploying on AWS, GCP, or Azure, ideally with Databricks or SageMaker

Responsibilities

• Build full-stack applications, data APIs, and AI-powered dashboards
• Develop backend services (Python: FastAPI/Django, Node.js)
• Integrate with Databricks and AWS SageMaker
• Create responsive frontends (React, Next.js, TailwindCSS)
• Deploy cloud-native apps (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Connect RAG pipelines, vector databases, and model endpoints
• Implement authentication, data access, and API management
• Build CI/CD pipelines, testing, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with product and design on AI-driven experiences
