Senior Full Stack Engineer
About The Position
August Health is seeking an experienced full stack developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience building and shipping complex, consumer-facing applications. The company's frontend stack includes React, TypeScript, offline-enabled PWAs using IndexedDB, DexieJS, Google Workbox, and the Effect ecosystem. The backend stack consists of Scala, Play Framework, and PostgreSQL, deployed on AWS via Kubernetes. While deep experience in all technologies is not expected, significant experience in some is required. The role involves working in a startup environment with ambiguity, balancing tradeoffs, and making complex decisions. The engineer will also contribute to company culture and engineering practices, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years professional experience as a software engineer
- Experience working in engineering organizations and familiarity with product focused software development cycles
- Ability to thrive in a startup environment that’s full of ambiguity - experience balancing tradeoffs to make complex decisions where there is no ‘right’ answer
- Good communication and personal skills; ability to interact and work well with the team
- Deep experience with some of the following: React, TypeScript, Scala, Play Framework, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes
Nice To Haves
- Experience with offline enabled PWAs using IndexedDB via DexieJS & Google Workbox
- Experience with the Effect ecosystem
