About The Position

Optix is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to contribute to the development and enhancement of their platform, which serves coworking and flex space operators. This role involves both deep full-stack development using AI tools across a Laravel and Vue stack, and building next-generation AI-powered features. The engineer will be responsible for shipping features end-to-end, designing and evolving APIs, and modernizing a legacy codebase towards an API-centric architecture. On the AI product side, the focus will be on evolving the platform into a conversational, agentic workspace management system. The role requires close collaboration with the Engineering Lead, Product, and Design teams, offering opportunities for increased technical-design responsibility and growth in full-stack fundamentals and AI expertise within a profitable SaaS company.

Requirements

AI-first approach to building software, directing AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor for code generation and possessing the judgment to review, guide, and correct their output.
6+ years of experience building and shipping full-stack web applications, with end-to-end feature ownership and production experience.
Depth in one convention-driven MVC framework (e.g., Laravel, Rails, Django, Spring, .NET) and one component-based JS framework (e.g., Vue, React, Angular).
Fluency with relational databases and APIs, including schema design, SQL writing and tuning, and building/consuming REST/GraphQL.
Ability to thrive in large, legacy-carrying codebases, owning quality through testing, CI, and code review, and improving system maintainability.
Clear articulation of technical reasoning to both technical and non-technical teammates.
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively.

Nice To Haves

Experience building with LLM APIs and achieving reliable production results.
Comfort with Python and familiarity with the LangChain ecosystem.
Familiarity with AWS (Bedrock, ECS/Kubernetes), containerization, and CI/CD.
PHP/Laravel and Vue.js (Vuetify, Vuex) experience.
Data engineering exposure (ETL, transformations, larger datasets).
Experience with hub-like systems integrating multiple external services (payments, calendars, access control).
Prior B2B SaaS experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver full-stack features across backend and frontend in a Jira-based Agile sprint, taking ownership of tickets.
Work AI-first, directing AI tools to write code while steering, reviewing, and improving the output.
Work within the established Laravel and Vue codebase, enhancing structure, readability, and maintainability.
Contribute to the long-term modernization of the platform, including migration from legacy frameworks and addressing technical debt.
Design and evolve APIs for iOS and Android apps, ensuring backward compatibility.
Build AI-powered features that deliver customer value, integrating AI capabilities into an intuitive UI.
Partner with the Engineering Lead on evaluation and monitoring of AI feature quality.
Work cross-functionally with Product and Design to shape technical direction and contribute to planning and estimation.
Improve code quality through test coverage, code reviews, and validation.
Provide tier-3 support on a rotational basis.
Engage in deep-dive investigations and edge case discovery.
Participate in sprint rituals and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
