Senior Full Stack Engineer
About The Position
Moongate is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to be their third engineering hire and first web specialist. Currently, Moongate is primarily an iOS app with supporting web technology. The web checkout, backend, and marketing infrastructure have been built to support the app but lack a dedicated owner. This role will be the primary contributor to the Moongate web stack, setting the standard for non-iOS development. The position is senior and has the potential to lead web engineering as the team grows. The engineer will report directly to the technical founders and collaborate with marketing, design, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Demonstrable track record of shipping products.
- Confidence making decisions amid ambiguity.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and hunger for ownership.
- Strong, well-reasoned opinions about web platforms and tooling.
- Experience leveraging AI coding agents to increase capacity and velocity, understanding the tooling, guardrails, and judgment required.
- Track record of building with TypeScript.
- Experience building backend services on Firebase, Firestore, and Google Cloud.
- Experience with end-to-end payments/checkout flows with Stripe or similar.
Nice To Haves
- Shipped a React Native/Expo app to production.
- Experience building performance-marketing infrastructure (pixels, server-side event APIs, MMPs, deferred deep linking).
- Experience with subscription apps and related terms (RevenueCat, paywall test, MMP).
- Launched own app, product, or other project.
- Some design sense and comfort making calls when specs are incomplete.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of Moongate's web platforms and scale them to be reliable, well-tested, and easy to extend.
- Build features that unlock new monetization and acquisition channels.
- Own the web2app and attribution infrastructure.
- Build the Moongate app for web (and potentially Android) using a multiplatform web/mobile stack, building upon existing checkout and account systems.
- Make top-level decisions alongside the founders.
