About The Position

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Enterprise Platforms is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer - Java to design, build, and implement scalable cloud-native solutions for enterprise platforms. This role involves translating complex requirements into reliable platforms, APIs, and distributed services, collaborating with product, architecture, and engineering teams to achieve business objectives. The engineer will support the Enterprise Platforms organization in delivering modern, reliable, and reusable technology capabilities to enhance engineering efficiency and enterprise-scale platform delivery. Toyota does not offer sponsorship for work authorization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience with genuine depth on both front-end and back-end.
• Experience building cloud-native systems that scale gracefully.
• Experience shipping complete products - polished, responsive UIs backed by robust services - using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Kotlin, React, and Next.js (or the right tool for the job).
• Experience working with microservices, distributed systems, real-time streaming architectures, and serverless patterns.
• Practical experience with AWS Services and related cloud technologies, along with a strong understanding of Modern 12-factor application design.
• Proven ability to build and support observable systems with strong practices in logging, testing, security, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota support or sponsorship for immigration-related employment now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing solutions and understanding infrastructure for streaming and integration services such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, AWS Event Bridge or API infrastructure such as AWS API Gateway, MuleSoft and Apigee.
• Certification and/or deep understanding of Kafka, Kinesis, or MuleSoft.
• Exposure to building self-service tools, reusable frameworks, or developer enablement capabilities that reduce operational overhead.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support distributed microservices and platform applications aligned with business goals and engineering requirements.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, supportable cloud-native solutions.
• Partner closely with product owners, architects, lead engineers, and peer developers to deliver reliable platform capabilities and shared services.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and implement solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Build and maintain APIs, integration components, and event-driven services that support critical platform and application needs.
• Strengthen system quality through code reviews, testing, debugging, and hands-on production support for distributed systems.
• Improve application quality and operational health through logging, monitoring, instrumentation, and automation across services.
• Create reusable components, engineering practices, and technical documentation that improve delivery consistency, engineering efficiency, and delivery speed across the teams.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas that drive continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
