About The Position

This role provides senior-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, including integrating third-party products. The developer will translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients, writing programs, developing code, testing artifacts, and producing reports. Emphasis is placed on employing software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that supports automation. The position involves elevating code into development, test, and production environments on schedule, providing follow-up production support, and submitting change control requests and documentation. A thorough understanding of software development methodology and development architecture standards is required, along with the ability to train and mentor less experienced staff and resolve elevated issues. Participation in design, code, and test inspections throughout the lifecycle is expected, as is explaining technical considerations in meetings, including those with internal clients, and performing systems analysis activities. The role requires a thorough understanding of client business functions and technology needs, as well as a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business areas and systems. Communication with cross-functional team members and explaining systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience are key. Adherence to Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verification that deliverables meet requirements, are essential. The position also includes participation in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least one year of development experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, JIRA; aptitude for continuous process improvement for process flows/workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in UI Development, server-side development, system integration, and API management; optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Must-have skills: Angular, Node JS, Typescript, Java, Spring Boot, Python, Github, CI/CD, TDD/BDD, AWS, CloudFormation, ECS, Fargate, S3, Lambda, IAM, SNS, SQS, Kafka

• Experience mentoring engineers, whether formal or informal, is welcomed though not required. This may include onboarding new hires, leading knowledge-sharing sessions, or acting as a technical resource for the team.
