About The Position

Chaos Labs builds infrastructure for organizations adopting AI at scale. Our products help organizations understand their AI work, capture the knowledge it generates, and turn everyday AI activity into intelligence they own. Reporting directly to the Tech Lead, you'll play a key role in building AI-native products used by organizations adopting AI at scale. You'll own features end-to-end, influence technical decisions, and help shape the next generation of enterprise AI.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python and JavaScript/TypeScript skills.
• Production experience with React.
• Backend API and distributed-systems experience.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication, product thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Rust, Go, or another statically typed language is a plus.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, and prompt evaluation is a plus.
• Based in NYC with the ability to work from our Brooklyn office, or the ability to work remotely, with travel up to 30% of the year to collaborate in person with the team.
• Familiarity with profiling tools and performance optimization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive frontend applications exclusively with React and TypeScript.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Rust.
• Integrate applications with AWS or GCP infrastructure.
• Design and maintain databases, integrations, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Optionally develop AI features involving LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and agents.
• Monitor and improve application reliability, performance, security, and cost.
