About The Position

Monstro is a governed AI platform for regulated financial institutions. We give banks and wealth managers a way to deliver trusted advice digitally — to every client, not just the top tier. Institutions already have the relationships, data, and context to understand each client. Monstro turns that understanding into advice. It gives every client the experience of a personal advisor: bringing together their full financial picture, identifying what matters, and delivering personalized guidance across investments, tax, retirement, insurance, legal, and more. For clients, that means clearer decisions, proactive support when life changes, and a better view of their financial lives. For institutions, it means deeper relationships, more clients served consistently, and more of each client's financial life managed in one place. What makes this possible is how the system is built. Every recommendation reflects the institution's own views, policies, and permissions. Every output is auditable, traceable, and reversible, and client data stays under the institution's control. Generative AI shapes how advice is designed; at runtime, execution is deterministic — so every output can be explained and stood behind, not just trusted. The work We are building for a high-stakes industry where the work has real consequences. The challenge is to make advice more personal and more available without making it less trusted — to build AI that institutions can audit, explain, and reverse, in a domain where being wrong carries real cost. That is a hard problem, and it is the reason to be here. You will work on technology that brings real financial advice to people who have rarely had access to it. You will be expected to think clearly, move with urgency, hold a high bar, and take responsibility for work that matters. We are an early team building something ambitious, and what you do here will shape both the product and the company.

Requirements

5+ years of professional frontend development experience
Strong proficiency in React and Typescript with production web-app experience
An appreciation of UX and the creative process
Solid grasp of modern CSS, responsive design principles, and accessibility standards
Experience with test-driven development and frontend testing frameworks
Contributions to design systems or component libraries
Confidence working with APIs and understanding backend services and system integrations.
Comfortable working with build tooling, bundlers, and CI/CD integration
Clear communicator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
Adaptable fast learner who is excited about staying on top of the latest trends in frontend development and wants to lead the team in adopting the latest best practices

Nice To Haves

Full stack experience including backend/API development experience (our backend is in python)
Background in fintech or regulated industries

Responsibilities

Build and own features across our React applications, delivering polished experiences for our users and clients.
Ensure the product feels native and responsive across different viewports, while maintaining a shared codebase.
Utilise the latest AI powered tools (e.g. Claude/Codes etc) in your workflow, from design to build to deployment.
Drive architectural decisions for our frontend stack—component structure, state management, navigation patterns, and API integration strategies.
Establish patterns and abstractions that balance developer velocity with long-term maintainability.
Champion a test-driven development culture.
Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies spanning unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Ensure the codebase remains reliable and regression-free as we scale.
Ensure our application meets accessibility standards, making our product usable for all users regardless of ability.
Advocate for inclusive design practices throughout the development process.
Work with build tooling, bundlers, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, reliable releases.
Collaborate with platform engineers to optimize build times, automate quality gates, and streamline the path to production.
Partner with designers to translate vision into implementation and with backend teams to define effective API contracts.
Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance, raising frontend standards across the organization.
