About The Position

Citi is seeking a Senior Front End Engineer to join the AI Automation Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team within Consumer Operations Technology. This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of complex application systems, driving critical engineering initiatives, shaping architectural standards, and mentoring junior engineers. The position offers the opportunity to work at the scale of a global financial institution, taking ownership of impactful systems and delivering solutions that matter.

Requirements

Mastery of Angular (6+), TypeScript, RxJS, NgRx (or other state management libraries), HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and modern build tools (Webpack, Angular CLI).
Deep understanding of web performance optimization, lazy loading, responsive design, and web accessibility standards (WCAG).
Experience with micro-frontend architecture and integrating APIs (RESTful, WebSockets, GraphQL).
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying UI applications on cloud platforms.
Demonstrated ability to lead UI design initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional product and AI teams.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, preferred.
Experience operating as a technical lead across multiple concurrent engineering workstreams.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and how large-scale infrastructure and application layers interact.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of highly responsive, accessible, and scalable web applications using Angular (latest versions) and modern UI technologies.
Collaborate with AI and backend teams to build intuitive user interfaces for intelligent operations solutions, including AI-assisted platforms, interactive chatbots, and complex workflow automation dashboards.
Set credible technical direction for front-end engineering, establishing best practices, coding standards, and robust testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine, Karma, Cypress).
Work closely with DevOps and platform teams to deploy UI applications within containerized (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud-native environments.
Design interfaces that simplify complex financial data, transactions, and workflows, ensuring compliance with financial industry standards and security protocols.
