About The Position

Corning is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer with deep ReactJS expertise to lead the design and development of cloud-native web applications in an AI-accelerated engineering environment. This remote, contract-based role emphasizes front-end architecture, technical leadership, and delivery of scalable, high-performance user interfaces—leveraging modern AI tools to increase development velocity, code quality, and design exploration while maintaining strong engineering judgment. You will work closely with distributed teams across design, back-end, and platform engineering, setting front-end standards and shaping user-facing architecture for complex, cloud-hosted systems.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex ReactJS applications for cloud-native platforms
Define and evolve front-end technical direction, including component libraries, design systems, state management, and build strategies
Translate product and UX requirements into scalable, maintainable front-end architectures, using AI tools to explore and validate design and implementation approaches
Apply AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, debugging, and documentation, while rigorously reviewing and validating all outputs
Partner closely with back-end engineers building Python-based, cloud-hosted microservices, ensuring clean API contracts and robust integrations
Build and support applications deployed in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
Ensure applications meet high standards for performance, accessibility, security, and reliability, using AI-assisted analysis to surface risks and bottlenecks
Drive best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation, including AI-assisted test generation and coverage analysis
Conduct code reviews, provide technical mentorship, and raise the engineering bar for mid-level and junior engineers
Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams in an agile, distributed environment
Troubleshoot complex front-end and integration issues across cloud environments, using AI tools to accelerate root-cause analysis
