Senior Front-End Engineer, Consumer Mobile App

Unleashed BrandsBedford, TX

About The Position

KidHub is the consumer mobile app that connects millions of families to every Unleashed Brands experience: Urban Air, The Little Gym, Premier Martial Arts, Sylvan Learning, Snapology, Class 101, and Water Wings Swim School. It is the front door to our platform and the daily product touchpoint for the families we serve. The Senior Front-End Engineer owns the continued front-end development of KidHub across iOS and Android. Our third-party development partner, Bounteous, built the initial release and is handing the codebase over to an internal team. This role picks up that codebase, raises the bar on quality and velocity, and partners closely with the SVP of Technology, Brand leaders, and shared services to evolve KidHub into a best-in-class consumer experience. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for an engineer who ships. The right person writes production React Native code daily, leverages AI tooling (specifically Claude Code) to compound their output, and treats QA, performance, and reliability as part of the job, not someone else's problem. They are equally comfortable in a Jira ticket, a Figma review, a SQL console pulling user behavior data, and a product roadmap conversation. Success looks like a KidHub experience that families love, franchisees can rely on, and the platform team can build on for years.

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with deep ownership of a consumer mobile app at scale.
  • Expert-level React Native and TypeScript. You have shipped production React Native code to the App Store and Google Play, not just prototypes.
  • Strong SQL skills with a track record of using data to investigate, validate, and decide. Comfortable in a query console without hand-holding.
  • Demonstrated, specific history of using Claude Code (or comparable AI coding tools) to ship production code, build internal tools, and reduce QA cycle time. Be ready to show examples and numbers.
  • Solid working knowledge of the standard React Native ecosystem: native module integration, navigation, state management, REST and GraphQL clients, build and release tooling (Fastlane, EAS, or equivalent), Firebase or comparable analytics and crash reporting, and push notifications.
  • 6 to 8 years of front-end or mobile engineering experience, with primary ownership of a production consumer app.
  • Demonstrated expertise in React Native and TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL for backend data investigation and reporting.
  • Demonstrated, evidenced experience using Claude Code to ship production code, build internal tools, and reduce QA cycle time.
  • Experience partnering with QA teams on automated testing and release quality.
  • Eligible to work in the United States and able to travel to DFW HQ quarterly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience inheriting and stewarding a codebase built by a third-party vendor is a strong plus.
  • Experience in consumer, family, or membership-driven mobile products is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain production React Native features across iOS and Android.
  • Write clean, well-tested, performant TypeScript code that scales with our user base and brand portfolio.
  • Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs, push notifications, analytics SDKs, payments and membership systems, and other consumer-app services in our stack.
  • Own front-end performance: app start time, frame rate, crash-free sessions, and binary size.
  • Participate in code review, raise the engineering bar, and document patterns the next engineer can build on.
  • Use Claude Code daily as a force multiplier across feature development, refactors, debugging, code review, and documentation.
  • Build internal tooling and scripts that improve the team's productivity, from release automation to test scaffolding to data pulls.
  • Bring concrete examples of how AI tooling has shipped production code and cut your own cycle time, then teach the rest of the team how to do the same.
  • Partner with the QA team to define test strategy, expand automated coverage, and reduce manual regression effort.
  • Drive measurable reductions in QA cycle time release over release.
  • Own bugs from triage to resolution. Ship fixes fast when they affect families in our parks and locations.
  • Champion crash monitoring, error tracking, and release health dashboards so issues are surfaced before customers feel them.
  • Write SQL against our backend data warehouse to investigate user behavior, validate feature performance, and answer product questions.
  • Build the instrumentation needed to measure the things that matter: activation, engagement, retention, and brand-level conversion.
  • Bring data to roadmap conversations. Push back when the data does not support the build.
  • Partner with the SVP of Technology, product, design, marketing, and the Brand teams to translate roadmap into shipped features.
  • Coordinate with shared services (data, marketing technology, customer support tooling) so KidHub fits cleanly into the broader platform.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively across time zones in a fully remote environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, performance bonus, and long term incentives.
  • Paid bi-weekly
  • Company Paid Holidays
  • Flexible Paid Time Off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Multiple health care insurance plans that cover medical, dental, prescription, vision, and employer HSA contributions
  • Competitive 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions
  • A positive work environment
