About The Position

Join Barclays as a Senior Fraud Strategy Manager VP, where you will be responsible for developing the strategic direction for Consumer Deposits, including the implementation of up-to-date fraud prevention and detection controls. You will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, including external third-party service providers, and support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to guide deposit fraud. The role will also involve proactively identifying emerging threats and potential risks, developing strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintaining alignment across Analytics, Operations, Technology, and Banking teams. In addition, you will conduct thorough market research to understand new fraud threats, the competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in order to identify opportunities for enhancing fraud controls.

Requirements

  • Experience in fraud strategy, fraud analytics, risk management, or data science within financial services
  • Proven experience developing and implementing fraud prevention and detection strategies, including balancing fraud losses, customer experience, operational costs, and business performance
  • Ample analytical and data skills, including working knowledge of SQL, SAS, or comparable tools and advanced Excel/PowerPoint capabilities
  • Experience with fraud risk governance and controls, including policies and procedures, control assessments, issue escalation, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness
  • Proven ability to support complex, cross-functional fraud activities, translate emerging threats into actionable strategies, define requirements and roadmaps, and influence senior stakeholders across Analytics, Operations, Technology, and Business teams

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of Consumer Deposits and Digital Banking, including account opening, authentication, account takeover, scams, first-party fraud, transaction monitoring, and money movement risks
  • Experience modernizing fraud capabilities and technology, including reducing false positives, defining KRIs, and influencing multi-year technology and transformation roadmaps

Responsibilities

  • Identification, collection, extraction of data from various sources, including internal and external sources.
  • Performing data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure its quality and suitability for analysis.
  • Development and maintenance of efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing.
  • Design and conduct of statistical and machine learning models to analyse patterns, trends, and relationships in the data.
  • Development and implementation of predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to seek out opportunities to add value from data through Data Science.
  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/ processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes.
