About The Position

The Senior Forming Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of forming equipment. This role involves performing technical tasks, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety and operational guidelines. The operator must be able to work in a physically demanding environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
Must be able to work in a dusty and noisy environment.
Must be able to work in a plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
Current on all safety trainings.
Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs).
Knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.
Completion of General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.
Ability to adjust sensors for proper operation.
Ability to inspect wires, sheet end cutter, and vacuum systems.
Ability to clean pipes, conveyor belts, line rollers, forming pit, trenches, and grates.
Ability to dispose of hazardous waste appropriately.
Ability to clean forming and press felt using HCL and proper rinsing techniques.
Ability to check rollers for moisture.
Ability to pump out water from the Pulpier and BC conveyor pits using a gas diaphragm pump.
Knowledge of gas diaphragm pump, Pulpier, BC Conveyor, and Forklift.

Responsibilities

Understand and follow all safety procedures, including being current on safety trainings and wearing required PPE.
Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas.
Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Complete General Plant Safety Training within the first 8 weeks.
Adjust sensors to ensure proper operation of equipment.
