About The Position

As an Associate in the BDO Advisory practice, you will utilize your education and skills as you serve the Firm's dynamic client base. The Sr. Associate supports clients in building and maintaining highly effective crisis management, business continuity and insurance programs through administering trainings, end-user support, data collection workshops and one-on-one interviews. This role provides the opportunity to gain an understanding of the business by working on various stages of engagements, including areas of risk analysis, crisis management, business continuity, operations, crisis communications and other matters as necessary.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management or Accounting, required
Three (3) or more years of work experience in risk management, business continuity, emergency management or crisis management, required
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Visio, required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and basic research skills related to the retrieval and organization of high volumes of information
Solid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines
Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
Supports a collaborative and team-oriented environment while pushing themselves, their peers, and their teams for strong results and quality work
Effectively handles firm and practice administrative matters, including engagement staffing, client billing, monitoring project economics and adherence to Firm quality standards and protocols

Responsibilities

Leads or materially contributes to the development of solutions for clients including development of risk analytic frameworks, policies, training materials, plans and procedures
Leads or supports engagement fact finding, including the review of existing client documentation and discussions with client contacts
Leads or supports the consulting team in development and tailoring of presentations, reports, activities and statements of work
Leads business continuity exercises and client interviews to assess potential business impacts, define critical, time-sensitive processes and develop business continuity plans
Participates in client workshops and/ crisis simulations and leads development of client work products to demonstrate key findings and conclusions
Liaises with the creative team to ensure onsite materials meet established cognitive approach and quality guidelines and are organized for seamless delivery
Tracks assigned consulting work progress, and keeps management, clients and other applicable individuals informed of status and related issues
Compiles client program metrics, and analyzes results using documented procedures, available tools and personal knowledge
Identifies and researches new business opportunities at the direction of senior leadership
Assists with or leads internal initiatives, as assigned
Recommends enhancements to client operations and infrastructure to strengthen business resiliency and recovery capabilities
Provides clients with strategic business continuity guidance (written and verbal) in the disciplines of business continuity, crisis management and enterprise risk management
Proactively identifies project risks and issues and resolves them in a timely manner
